Hey Sis! Welcome, or welcome back.

Winter is wrapping up, and so is our Winter Breaking Series. But there’s absolutely no way we can close a series all about breaking without talking about curse breaking.

And to discuss curse breaking and its significance, Holy Spirit instructed me to take us to the story of Esther and Mordecai.

When we look at the story of Esther, one of the first things we see is how she was called and chosen. Out of many women brought before King Xerxes, Esther was the one who found favor and was chosen as Queen.

That is you—a woman who is called by name, chosen, and favored by the King of all kings.

In the book of Esther, we see a powerful moment in history where a decree was issued that would have led to the total destruction of an entire nation of Jewish people. But what Haman (the enemy) intended to be the end of them was really a setup for God to demonstrate His power to reverse what had been spoken.

All because of pride, envy, greed, a need for control, and simply wickedness, Haman wanted to wipe out not only Mordecai but the entire nation connected to him.

This is exactly how the enemy works through generational curses, strongholds, and cycles. The enemy doesn’t just want you…he wants your entire bloodline.

Sis, the truth is this: not everything you are battling is the fault of your own. Many of the battles we are facing now are the same battles previous generations in our bloodline had to fight. Negative words, curses, and decrees were spoken, and somewhere along the line someone in the bloodline came into agreement with them.

Think about how Esther had absolutely nothing to do with the decree. She had kept her background secret, and no one even knew that she was connected to the Jewish people or related to Mordecai. However, the attack was specifically targeted against her people. This goes to show that when the enemy can’t get to you, he will try your family and those connected to you.

I can’t imagine the distress both Esther and Mordecai must have felt. Esther had much to lose, and Mordecai’s livelihood was at stake. But even more, their people had been cursed and targeted for total destruction. Ultimately, they carried the burden of going against the laws and expectations of their time, being courageous—not just for themselves, but to preserve their bloodline.

It was the King’s grace and favor that positioned Esther in a place where she had access to power and influence. And through that access, along with her obedience and courage, what was meant to destroy her people was ultimately overturned.

God often positions specific individuals who He knows will stand in the gap, cover others, and have the courage and audacity to go against the grain. These are the ones who refuse to back down to the enemy, recognizing that the battle is bigger than themselves. They don’t negotiate with or ignore the enemy’s repetitive lies and schemes. God uses them to break generational chains and curses and to reverse the wicked plots the enemy has carried out against bloodlines for decades.

Not only did Esther and Mordecai’s audacious actions take out Haman, but his sons were also destroyed. The Jewish people were made victorious over their enemies and were able to feast and celebrate their deliverance.

What a powerful example of what it looks like when God steps in and breaks what the enemy thought was final.

This story reminds us that our breakthrough is not just for ourselves, it is for our bloodline and the generations to come.

Let this be your reminder, Sis: God has chosen and positioned YOU for a time such as this to break something that was meant to destroy many. To whom much is given, much is required, but remember, the battle is already won!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Lord, thank You for positioning me for such a time as this. Give me the courage and wisdom to stand in the gap, rebuke every stronghold, and break every generational cycle and curse spoken over my life and my bloodline.

Strengthen me to act boldly, knowing that the battle is bigger than myself but already won through You. May my obedience, courage, and faith not only bring breakthrough for me but also for those connected to me, flowing through generations to come. Continue making me more like You, Lord, so that others can see Your power and grace at work in my life and know that it can be done in them through faith and obedience.

I cover my family and all those connected to me even now. I pray that when the enemy cannot reach me, he will not be able to touch them either. Protect them, Lord, and cover them with the blood of Jesus, shielding them from all danger, seen and unseen.

Thank You for making me a vessel of generational deliverance, and may Your name be glorified in every victory.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
