Falling Into Relationship

Hey Sis!

Can you believe we’re already in November? They say time flies when you’re having fun, and I must say, we’ve been having an absolute ball this fall, falling deeper in love with Jesus.

But if I’m being honest, when I think about how quickly time is passing us by, I get a little concerned.

Doesn’t it seem like each year moves faster than the last? It feels like it was just January 1st, 2025, and now here we are with only two months left in the year. That is wild to me!

But why is that? I don’t think it has anything to do with daylight savings, Sis. I believe it’s about our routines—how we constantly fill our 24 hour day with to-dos, checklists, and never-ending tasks. Somewhere in all that hustle and bustle, time slips quietly through our fingers.

Whether it’s work, caring for family, making time for rest and leisure, or fulfilling our duties within the church community, there’s always something calling for our focus and energy.

We find ourselves constantly going, doing, and moving. And over time, those activities just blend into our daily rhythm—a routine we rarely question. Like a hamster on a revolving wheel, we keep running, never finding the time to slow down, pause, and simply be still.

And as I mentioned earlier, this is what truly concerns me.

What I’m learning about God is that while He is a BIG God—mighty, powerful, and sovereign—He often chooses to speak to us through His Word and in whispers. And those whispers can only be heard in moments of quietness and stillness.

Another thing I’ve learned about God is that He is a PERSONAL God, extremely patient, gentle, and kind. He will never force us into doing anything we don’t want to do.

His desire is for relationship — not obligation, not domination, and most certainly not performance.

God has already chosen us. He created us, knows us intimately, and has loved us from the very beginning. His love for us runs so deep and He desires a personal, consistent, and intimate relationship with EACH of us. He wants us to spend time with Him, talk with Him, and seek His will in every area of our lives. But here’s the thing, Sis—God won’t force His way into spaces where He’s not invited. He rarely shouts for our attention through big signs and wonders. Instead, He is a BIG God who often moves in small, detailed, intentional ways that require us to be still enough to notice Him.

So as we step into this new month, my prayer is that we don’t just fall into routine, but that we fall into RELATIONSHIP.

That we don’t get so caught up in the rhythm of doing that we forget the beauty of being with Him. God isn’t after our checklists or our perfect schedules. He’s after our hearts. He longs to meet us in the quiet, to speak in the stillness, and to walk with us through every moment of our day.

And may we remember that life isn’t just about the here and now. God calls us to set our eyes on the eternal, to invest in the things that last beyond time, and to anchor our hearts in Him rather than fleeting routines.

This November and moving forward, may we intentionally slow down, tune our hearts to His Word and whispers, and fall deeper in love with the One who’s been faithfully pursuing us all along.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, My God in Heaven,

Thank You, Lord, for loving me, keeping me, providing for me, and protecting me. Your love and grace are undeserved, yet You give them freely and abundantly. May I always walk in love, in spirit and in truth.

Lord, help me to slow down in this fast-paced world so that I can truly hear from You. I don’t want to fall so deep into my routines that I neglect falling into a relationship with You. May my connection with You grow deeper and stronger, no matter what is going on around me.

Help me to keep my mind on things above and not on earthly things. Teach me how to rest, how to be still, and how to recognize and follow Your voice in every moment.

May my relationship with You be the foundation for all my other relationships. May every part of me, my heart, my thoughts, and my actions, be fully surrendered to You.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Scriptures to meditate on this week:

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Colossians 3:2)
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” (Psalm 37:7)
