Last week’s devotional was all about overcoming distractions and staying rooted in God—rooted in His Word, His presence, prayer, purpose, and community. With that foundation, we’re able to grow strong and steady, unshakeable and unmoved. Because the truth is, being deeply rooted in Christ becomes even more essential as He begins to elevate us.
Now, for today’s devotional…
I had another topic planned, but during prayer, God redirected me. And I’m so glad He did, because what He gave me feels like one of the most important revelations we can receive—especially as we talk about blossoming and flourishing in Kingdom purpose.
So what is it?
Being rooted in God’s love.
Sounds simple, right? “God is love.” “He first loved us.” We’ve heard it (1 John 4:8, 4:19). But do we really know how deeply God loves us?
The truth is: knowing God loves us and living from that truth are two different things.
When we step into our God-given purpose, it’s easy to fall into overworking or striving to produce one thing after another. Yes, faith without works is dead (James 2:26), but if we’re not careful, we can start to operate in a works-based faith instead of a grace-based faith—even when the work is for the Kingdom.
Sis, stay with me.
When God is doing a new thing and we finally say “yes,” there’s this holy momentum that kicks in. I’ve felt it myself—that confidence and fire when you’re stepping out in obedience. We start creating the content, the products, the programs. We get busy doing. But in the process, we sometimes drift. We focus more on production than presence, more on the vision than the One who gave it.
And it’s not on purpose, but it happens.
Still, God’s love never changes.
He’s not watching how often you post, how much you write, how loud you speak, or how far you reach. That’s not what His love is measured by. He simply wants you to know: He loves you for you.
No amount of works, or lack of them will change how God sees you. He wants you to be with Him. To rest in Him. To be still and soak in His love.
More than anything you can do for Him, God wants time with you. He wants your heart, not your hustle.
So today, let this be your reminder:
You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe.
He knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb.
He knows you better than you know yourself.
He has beautiful plans for you.
He is always with you! Cheering you on, carrying you through, and covering you with His endless love.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, My God in Heaven,
Thank You for Your love. Thank You for Your consistent, unwavering, and undeserved love. It is only by Your love and grace that I have been sustained all along. You sent your only begotten Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for me so that I could be reconciled to You. There is no other love like Yours.
I want to soak in Your love here and now. I want to grasp the fullness of Your love, because Your love for me is not surface-level. Your love is deep and unconditional. Because You first loved me, I am able to love others. Teach me to love as You do—selflessly, without pride or selfish ambition.
Your love is patient, Your love is kind, and Your love is all that I need. I want to be rooted in Your love, with the understanding that no amount of works can change Your love for me. You simply love me for me. You are my Father, and I am Your child. This is a love I will forever cherish and forever need.
Thank You for loving me, God.
